Prerequisites:
Attending one of the Zoom workshops is required to participate in the photoshoot on Saturday, August 29th. If you are not able to attend, access to a recording of the Zoom workshop will be provided for a limited time.
Synopsis:
Your Headshot Strategy is both a workshop and a photoshoot provided over two sessions.
In the workshop session (provided online over Zoom), both emerging and established actors will be guided in developing their unique headshot strategy. In the following headshot session at Kevin Clarks Studios, that strategy will be put into action, supported by the team who helped to build it.
Concepts explored:
In these two sessions, we’ll give you step-by-step, personalized, coaching on the dos and don’ts of making impactful first impressions with your headshots, then we get those plans underway with a photoshoot that will get Your Headshot Strategy in action.

Explore the current way headshots are now utilized and the common mistakes made when shooting & selecting headshots
Evaluate your current headshots and create alignment with how your agent submits you
Create photo goals for maximizing efficiency at the photo shoot
Strategies for selecting wardrobe to “dress to suggest” without being costume-y
Use of body language, hair and makeup to enhance variety of characters created in photos while maintaining authentic representation of actor

Your instructors Catherine Lough Haggquist, Laine MacNeil, and Bronwen Smith are working actors with collectively many hundreds of credits as well as years teaching and coaching.
For over 35 years Kevin and Tricia Clark have been shooting headshots for actors across Canada. They pride themselves on creating a comfortable, supportive atmosphere for actors to explore and find their best shots.
