Shanna Mair

Originally from Toronto, Vancouver-based Costume Designer, costume instructor, and emerging producer Shanna has spent the past 21 years working in the costume department across commercials, television, film, and print. Her credits include series such as HBO’s You Me Her, CW’s Supergirl, Netflix’s Lucifer, Hallmark’s Chesapeake Shores, and Savouring Paris, as well as her latest feature film The Marshmallow Experiment.

Shanna’s creative journey began at a young age, exploring graphic, interior, and visual design before attending Capilano University’s Costume for Film and TV program. This career shift followed many years in styling and retail display, experiences that continue to inform her keen eye for detail and adaptability.

Parlaying her deep industry experience into producing, Shanna brings the same creative vision and organizational skill to the broader storytelling process. Whether designing for a fast-paced commercial, crafting costumes for a feature film, or guiding a project from concept to completion, she approaches every endeavor with versatility and dedication.

She believes costume design is a vital tool in helping an actor fully realize their character and remains passionate about telling compelling stories, both through her own creative work and by passing her knowledge on to the next generation of artists.
