Deanne Henry

Actor, Guest Instructor

Deanne Henry has been a successful screen and stage actress for over 50 years.

 

Born in Muncie, Indiana, she began dancing and acting with a touring children’s drama company at the age of three. She moved to Toronto, enjoyed an impressive musical theater career, then ran off to join the circus.

Deanne has had literally thousands of hours in film, television and onstage. Over the past several years, she has expanded her repertoire to directing, writing and coaching in both Vancouver and L.A. She now resides full-time in Vancouver where she coaches, using “Streamlining” as a major adjunct to her syllabus.  

A founding member of the UBCP film and television union of British Columbia, Deanne received an ACTRA LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP AWARD. She was on the Board of PAL, BC (The Performing Arts Lodge) operating under the mission: "No person in the professional performing arts community will live in isolation, want or fear." 

 

Deanne won a LEO AWARD for best performance by a female in a dramatic television series. She was recently honoured with the SAM PAYNE AWARD for humanity, integrity and encouragement of new talent. She was also voted ACTRA/UBCP's International Woman's Day Honouree.
