What to Expect

ONLINE CLASS Intermediate to Advanced 8 students max Thursdays, April 20th - June 8th 6:30pm - 8pm PDT with Lynda and Laine MacNeil Having been introduced to and having explored the fundamentals of TV & Film auditioning, instructors Lynda and Laine MacNeil will take students further on the journey towards mastery of auditioning with skill and confidence in front of the camera and with true integrity in their work. Students will explore subjects including: -Confidence in front of the camera -Understanding your moment before (where the character is coming from and what's just happened) -Delving into the biography of the character (who am I?) -Understanding your characters objective (what do I want?) -Exploring the character's relationships and environment -Working the emotional scale of the body -Understanding the given circumstances of the script mastering all technical aspects of a strong self tape (eye lines, camera settings, background, framing, lighting etc.) After taking this class students will have a greater understanding of: -How to prepare for auditions quickly and effectively. -How to understand character bio, relationships and environment -How to take risks with the material, and commit to choices whilst being open to direction and making adjustments. -How to break down scripts, understand active listening and action/reaction. They will also be equipped with the knowledge and tools they need to master a self tape at home, and the understanding of when coaching and professional studios may be best.
