We love our community and love taking part in community events such as The White Rock Farmer's Market, The Peace Arch Hospital Pumpkin Run, The Sea Festival in White Rock and Culture Days in White Rock.
We also love to donate funds from our performances whenever possible. We've collected thousands for Sources Food Bank, SPCA, the Surrey Food Bank, MS Society of Canada, the Alberta Fire Relief Fund and the Peace Arch Hospital.
In 2018, TDC and NUVO Music School joined efforts to organize a large Variety Showcase fundraiser for the Peace Arch Hospital featuring performances from their students. The event was widely praised and raised over $2500.
Working with Our Local Community Businesses:
The Drama Class is always looking for new ways to spread the word of the performing arts. We have worked with many local businesses to bring the arts to our community and to all.
Here is what we've been doing:
1. Founder and Artistic Director, Michele Partridge co-founded Peninsula Arts and Culture Alliance (PACA). Local arts and culture businesses and non-profit organizations meet monthly to promote each other's events. Arts collaborations usually occur at these meeting plus the annual event called "Creative Flow in White Rock" during the annual national Culture Days weekend in September.
2. The instructors at TDC have been asked to host several improv events for their clients and staff for a variety of local businesses including:
Amica White Rock
Oceana Parc White Rock
City of Surrey
South Surrey & White Rock Chamber of Commerce ...to name just a few.
3. In January 2020, we are looking forward to teaching some drama programs at Semiahmoo House for their residents.
Having fun doing some improv at Oceana Parc Retired Living Residences in White Rock.
